Why Jefferson is on the practice squad

Three receivers on a practice squad is a little heavy, but I’ve figured out why he’s here. One of Buffalo’s practice squad receivers is hurt.

Felton Huggins has not practiced for over a week now and I believe they signed Jefferson so they have enough receivers to run scout team stuff of the 49ers for the starting defense.

With Huggins out of the mix the Bills would have to press more of their active roster receivers into action, so Jefferson helps to fill the bill there while Huggins is on the mend.
