Pats making play for Peppers?

Well Bills fans this would be the worst nightmare come true. According to NFL.com’s Vic Carucci, the Patriots have been discussing a trade with the Carolina Panthers to acquire Julius Peppers.

Apparently it could be finalized at the league meetings set to take place in California from March 22nd to the 25th, and right now it sounds as if a 2nd round pick (the one the Pats got from the Chiefs in the Matt Cassel trade) would get it done.

I really don’t want to contemplate Julius Peppers and Adalius Thomas coming off the edges of the Pats 3-4 defense at the same time.

Peppers had said that he wanted to be traded to a team that plays a 3-4 defense. And the Patriots believe he’s athletic enough to handle outside linebacker. I’m just wondering how many Pro Bowl players New England can assemble in their front seven. Ugh.
