Wood in full lather for night practice

Climbing up the walls in Orchard Park waiting for his contract to be completed was hard enough. Now that Wood is at training camp, he can’t wait for tonight’s practice. “Oh yeah, I’m ready to go,” he said after the team’s morning walk through. ”I’m sweating after a walk thru, so you know I’ll be ready tonight.” [...]

NFL officials are in

The league’s zebras have arrived at Bills training camp. The officials spend a few days at NFL training camps to re-acquaint the players and coaches as to what will be called a penalty on Sundays in watching their competitive play in practice. They’re also trying to get themselves prepared for the speed of the game [...]

Wood and Byrd on the field

Eric Wood and Jairus Byrd are on the field this morning with their teammates at the morning walk thru. Wood will practice tonight for the first time. Byrd obviously will not, being on the active non-football injury list.

Jairus Byrd is on campus at St. John Fisher at Bills training camp. He’s going to be in meetings for most of the evening, even though he won’t be hitting the field right away.

How Wood passed the time

Eric Wood was crawling up the walls waiting for his contract to get done. But he had an interesting way to pass the time. He was playing video games live online. “It’s been a long few days,” said Wood. ”And if you’ve been on X-Box live you’ve probably seen me and I’ve been going crazy. Football [...]

He’s scheduled to work out for the club on Friday [...]

Whitner on team’s playoff chances

After making his playoff guarantee in 2008, Donte Whitner was asked what he thought about the squad this year and whether it was playoff caliber. “Yeah, I think this is a playoff team, and everybody else around here has said it and I believe that,” said Whitner. ”We just have to put the pieces together and [...]

Whitner remembering his grandmother

Donte Whitner lost his grandmother to cancer this past March. And he’ll be taking a small piece of the breast cancer awareness color scheme onto the field every day this season. Whitner will be wearing a pink mouthpiece all season. “I wear that to signify my love for her and show my support to everybody [...]

McKelvin steps out of practice

After making an over the shoulder INT in the end zone early in practice Leodis McKelvin stepped out. Just talked to him coming off the field and he said it’s a minor quad strain that forced him to step out of practice, but he said its minor and he’s not worried about it.

WR Caldwell gets look from Bills

The Bills are suddenly thin at receiver with four of their 10 on the roster now watching practice. Knowing their healthy receivers could be taxed even more, and thus have a greater potential for injury themselves the club reportedly worked out Reche Caldwell. According to the Tampa Tribune Caldwell worked out Tuesday for the Bills. [...]

Johnson injury update

Steve Johnson was moving slowly off the field Tuesday after watching the night practice. Slowly because any sudden movements aggravate his torn rib cartilage. “I’m just frustrated that I can’t be out there, seeing how everybody’s working hard and it’s hot out here, we have receivers going down and I can’t be out there to [...]

Trent a secret weapon at wideout?

The Bills like every other team are preparing their defense for possible Wildcat looks this season in practice at camp. Trent Edwards however, feels he’s being underutilized when lined up at wideout. “That’s really frustrating me because I do feel like I have a lot of potential at the receiver position,” Edwards said laughing. ”I really feel [...]

Sam left practice with a strained quad. No word on how much time [...]

As you well know night practice gets the fans excited, but it’s also got the players jacked up for this evening. DonteWhitner: The guys on PTI know nothing about sports or the buffalo bills…time to go to work nite [...]
