Walker on his fitness level

So I’ve had a number of fans ask me if Langston Walker has lost weight. I too felt he had dropped perhaps 10-15 pounds looking at him, which could make a difference handling the faster speed rushers he’ll be facing on the left side. I told fans I would try to get an answer from Langston, but warned all of you that he’s sensitive about his weight. But I finally got around to asking him if he’s lighter. Here’s the response.

“Asking about an offensive lineman’s weight is like asking a woman’s age,” said Walker.

Fortunately Walker gave me the opportunity to re-phrase the question, in which I said, ‘Did you come into camp in better shape being conscious of the fact that you’d be facing faster pass rushers on the left side?’ I got a better answer for that one.

“I think I feel a little bit better coming in,” he said. “I definitely feel healthy starting off and that is always a good thing.  It is a little tougher on that left side and that did factor into my workouts over the summer.  I am treating it as a new thing and I am going to go out there and do my best.”

So for those that want to know specifically how much Langston is weighing in at these days either trust what the roster says (366) or go ask him yourself. But you’ve been warned.
