After being full go in practice and apparently fully recovered from his sprained toe, Terrell Owens was asked if he was concerned about the injury lingering or resurfacing during the season. Owens did not think it would because of one reason.
“I’ve come to find out that it was really due to the shoe I had on,” said Owens. “It was not anything structurally or due to a tackle or anything like that. It had to do with the type of shoe that I was wearing. It was obviously a different shoe than I had last year so I had to switch shoes. It s**ks, but good that it happened earlier than later.”
Owens said he would like to play on Thursday night in the Bills preseason finale, if the coaches let him. Head coach Dick Jauron offered the following on Owens likelihood of playing against the Lions.
“We’ll cross that bridge later in the week,” said Jauron. “I would say there’s not a good chance of it at this point, but we’ll see how it goes.”
