While Buffalo’s coordinators are squarely focused on today’s opponent the Dolphins, with a short week coming up other members of the staff have already taken the preliminary steps to prepare for their next opponent the New York Jets with that game just four days away.
“Coordinators won’t really get into that preparation,” said interim head coach Perry Fewell. “But our other coaches began that process Friday and Saturday to create the shell of the game plan so it’s ready for the coordinators. I don’t want the coordinators to watch another opponent so they can focus on the Miami Dolphins.”
Fewell is obviously including himself in that comment as defensive coordinator. So while he and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt have not seen any Jets tape in preparation for the Thursday night game coming up this week, Buffalo’s other assistants have already put some elements of the game plan against New York together.
