With the Bills in the midst of a short week, and recovery time from last Sunday’s game in short supply, Buffalo’s coaching staff will limit the team’s time on the field, which means the players will have to prepare more mentally than physically for a game for the first time this season.
Players often say that until you physically rep things on the field do you really get it. Fortunately after 11 games in the books the players should have most of that down to the point where motor memory will be able to take over on Thursday night. Lee Evans addressed how the mental acuity will need to be as sharp as it has been all season in preparation for the game.
“It’s definitely a different week,” Evans said. “We’re certainly going to do some things in the classroom to see what they’re doing now. Obviously, we played them once so we know some of the things that they do, but just getting familiar with them a little bit more…. you won’t get the rest that you usually get at practice but you’ve just got to dedicate yourself a little more in the film room and put it to work on Thursday.”
