Fewell expected to join Bears
Posted by on January 10, 2010 – 2:27 pmReports are indicating that Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell will take a bird in the hand as opposed to two in the bush when it comes to his next job.
After interviewing for the Bills head coaching job, the Giants defensive coordinator post, Fewell will interview for the Bears defensive coordinator job Monday. But it’s more of a formality than anything else as Fewell is tight with Bears head coach Lovie Smith. That’s why there are reports that Fewell will take the job with the Bears on the spot.
Fewell even called himself a long shot for the Bills head coaching job, despite reports that he interviewed well. Fewell spent the 2005 season as Chicago’s secondary coach under Smith, and previously worked under Smith with the St. Louis Rams.
