Buffalo’s 2010 preseason schedule features two teams the Bills will face in the regular season.
The Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions will be the last two opponents in Buffalo’s preseason this summer leading up to the 2010 campaign. Buffalo plays the AFC North and NFC North in the regular season for intra division and inter division opponents this fall.
The Bills play the Bengals in the preseason week when most head coaches like to play their starters the longest, so it will be interesting to see how both Chan Gailey and Marvin Lewis handle that situation knowing they’ll be meeting up later in the year when the game counts for real.
I’ve got to imagine they’ll both be playing that one close to the vest game plan-wise.
Then the Lions game (9/2-9/3) is the typical finale, but they’ll be playing Detroit during the regular season as well. That happened to the Bills and Lions back in 2006, a game the Lions won 20-17.
I like the preseason opener being against another team with a new coach and system coming in with the road game at Washington (Aug. 12-16). With both teams trying to get accustomed to new things, it’ll be a good first test.
Then the second preseason game up in Toronto (Aug. 19-23) against Indy will be a major test, especially for Buffalo’s defense.
