Monthly Archives: April 2010

Nelson and Wright numbers

Here are the assigned jersey numbers for the two latest college free agents to sign with the Bills. ILB Mike Wright will wear jersey number 49 and WR David Nelson will wear jersey number 86.

Fan Friday 4-30

Well the 2010 draft is in the rearview mirror and the Bills really got some good talent for their D-line in Troup and Carrington. I like those guys a lot. Spiller is a difference maker. Be nice to strike a little fear in opponents. Some good depth players too. In any event let’s see what’s [...]

Poz’s recent TSN appearance

Since it aired north of the border, a lot of Bills fans might have missed it. Bills LB Paul Posluszny appeared on TSN’s ‘Next Question’ earlier this week. The guest is usually peppered with a series of quick questions in a short time frame. Poz handled it well even though the interviewer was a dipstick [...]

Spiller makes list of projected successes

In the wake of the draft there are grades, reviews and assessments of each NFL team’s draft class. There are also projections as to which team landed instant impact type players. Scout.com did such a projection and Buffalo’s top pick is at the head of the list. Here is Scout.com’s ‘most-likely-to-succeed’ list of 2010 draft [...]

Jersey numbers for undrafteds

With six more undrafted college free agents signing with the Bills on Thursday, here’s the rundown of what jersey numbers they’ll all be wearing. First, for local UB product and Buffalo native Naaman Roosevelt he couldn’t have asked for better. After wearing jersey number 18 at UB, he’s also been assigned 18 by the Bills. [...]

For those that missed it

As we told you Wednesday, Bills 4th-round pick Marcus Easley was scheduled to appear on ESPN’s 1st Take program late Thursday morning. We have the interview for you. Easley covered a lot of the same ground that you’ve seen in our coverage here on Buffalobills.com about his career, but we know Bills fans can never [...]

Moorman gives props to Feagles

Kickers and punters in the NFL are kind of a private fraternity. That’s why Bills punter Brian Moorman made sure to pay homage to a mentor of his at the NFL level. With reports that 23-year veteran Jeff Feagles is going to announce his retirement on Friday, Moorman gave a public tip of the cap [...]

Nix on why Tebow wasn’t in their plans

Bills GM Buddy Nix told Buffalobills.com on draft weekend that Tim Tebow was never in their plans. On Thursday during an interview with Double-X 1090 radio in San Diego he explained why. When asked if the Bills had ever considered Tebow as a possible draft choice early he stated that they did not, citing what [...]

Why Spiller better than Best

There was naturally strong support out west for Cal RB Jahvid Best as being one of the best backs in the draft. Some apparently even thought he was on a par with Buffalo’s C.J. Spiller. People in the know however, disagree and explain why. Former NFL scout Dan Jeremiah, who runs his draft site (MoveTheSticks.com), was asked on his [...]

Everett update

Some Bills fans have asked about former TE Kevin Everett and how he’s faring these days. A program called ‘Athlete 360′ is providing an update. It’s proven difficult for a lot of Time Warner Cable subscribers to find the program, but there is a way to see the entire episode containing Everett online. Just go [...]

Thurs. player radio appearances

Here’s the rundown of the upcoming appearances by Bills draft picks on radio airwaves. 5th round pick OT Ed Wang – Norton in the Morning, 97 Rock @ 9:15 AM 6th round pick ILB Arthur Moats – WXTG 102.1 The Game (Tidewater, VA) @ 5:45 PM You can listen online to 97 Rock if you’re [...]

Mitchell to line up at ILB

It was widely believed that in Buffalo’s new 3-4 system that veteran Kawika Mitchell would line up at inside backer and have free agent signee Andra Davis as his main competition. But with a knack for having good timing on blitzes some thought he could factor into some blitz packages off the edge. Mitchell however, [...]

Numbers for Coleman, Harris

Two of the newest Bills, undrafted rookie free agents Antonio Coleman and Dominique Harris, who signed on Wednesday already have their jersey numbers assigned. Coleman will wear jersey number 59 and Harris will wear number 36 when they report for Buffalo’s rookie minicamp a week from Friday. Coleman looks like a guy that could potentially [...]

WR Easley to appear on ESPN

Bills 4th-round pick Marcus Easley will be appearing on ESPN on Thursday (April 29th). The wide receiver will be interviewed on ESPN’s First Take show at 11:30 am, which airs on ESPN2. Easley’s appearance is likely due in part to the fact that the UCONN campus is just a short drive from ESPN’s Bristol, Connecticut [...]

Spiller already working

Bills top pick C.J. Spiller already got his workout in for the day and is anxious to get started on the field. Here’s one of his more recent twitter posts as he’s clearly eager to get back up to Buffalo for Bills rookie minicamp. Lightning28    I’m up ab grab sum bf then head to put [...]

Even reporters say Lynch staying

Though there is still a contingent of fans out there that think Marshawn Lynch will be moved via trade, now national reporters in addition to the Bills front office say he’s here to stay. Bills GM Buddy Nix has stated repeatedly that Lynch is here and they intend to keep him in Buffalo. And ESPN’s [...]

Batten’s road to South Dakota

It’s not often that a promising high school football player from Arizona winds up at South Dakota State. Bills 6th-round pick Danny Batten took the time to explain to Buffalobills.com. Batten attended a newer high school (Mesquite), which didn’t have a lot of tradition with respect to their football team. His senior year their record [...]

Bills interested in OT Adams?

ESPN Rumor Central looks to be speculating more than anything else, but they believe a veteran free agent offensive tackle could be pegged. According to the “report” free agent veteran OT Flozell Adams could be targeted as a possible free agent addition for their left tackle position. Here’s the key sentence among what was written [...]

Looks like 3 day draft here to stay

The NFL released the ratings results for the 2010 NFL draft and with the increase in viewership, the three-day format in all likelihood is going nowhere. A record combined total viewership of 45.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the 75th NFL Draft on NFL Network, ESPN and ESPN2 – up 16% from last year’s [...]

A 2011 mock draft?!!

I think NFL draft addicts have officially gone off the deep end. One of them is at SI.com as he put together a 2011 mock draft. It’s kind of comical really. First, there’s no way to know what the draft order is going to be. Second, with a full season of play and team needs [...]
