Long time Miami DE Jason Taylor is making a free agent visit with the Jets today (Wednesday).
That according to ESPN’s John Clayton. New York is looking to get more sack production from their outside linebackers and believe Taylor would fill the bill.
Being one of the final eight teams in the playoffs they had to lose a free agent before being allowed to potentially sign one. The Jets lost kicker Jay Feeley, who signed with the Cardinals, at which point trying to sign Taylor became an option.
Taylor, who is also drawing interest from the Dolphins and Patriots, is reportedly inclined to wait until May or June to decide his future, unless the Jets offer bowls him over. One of the main reasons Taylor chose to re-sign with the Dolphins last year was to not uproot his young family in south Florida. Waiting until May or June however, may eliminate some options as teams will look to fill their pass rushing needs in the draft in late April.
