Moorman triathlon a hit

The 1st Annual Brian Moorman sprint triathlon was a hit. It was a great weather day in downtown Buffalo and the course was racer friendly. Among the Bills that participated were Rian Lindell and Garrison Sanborn. Derek Schouman’s wife Charl also competed. I hope to have all the times of the Bills affiliated racers by [...]

Great day for Moorman triathlon

We’re only about a half hour from race time here in downtown Buffalo at Brian Moorman’s PUNT Foundation 1st Annual Sprint Triathlon, and the weather could not be better. By race time (8 am) it’ll be about 65 degrees and mostly sunny with a slight breeze, which is great for the bike and the run. [...]

Byrd Pro Bowl photo up

Jairus Byrd made the Pro Bowl as a rookie last season. Now his photo has joined the other distinguished Bills that have earned Pro Bowl nods as well. In the Bills Fieldhouse every player that has ever made the Pro Bowl or been honored with the Ralph C. Wilson Distinguished Service Award has their photo [...]

Fan Friday 5-28

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. Just take a minute to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. First week of OTAs is in the books. Let’s get to your questions (AskChris@bills.nfl.net). 1 – Hi Chris:       I was wondering if you think that Jamon Meredith has a shot at becoming the [...]

Offense helping defense

Chan Gailey’s offenses are known for having a ton of shifts and motions. And it’s a well known fact that it often puts more pressure on a defense to get properly aligned to defend it pre-snap. Right now in OTAs it’s serving to help the Bills defense get their ducks in a row. “We’re installing [...]

Moorman race on Sat.

Brian Moorman’s 1st annual sprint triathlon in downtown Buffalo is Saturday morning at 8, but there’s still time to register yourself or a team of 3. The race still has several slots open. Please feel free to register online. You can go to www.brianmoorman.org for more info or go to Bert’s Bikes and fitness on [...]

Whitner hears the chatter

Donte Whitner had been traded close to a dozen times via media speculation this offseason. He’s read all of that and heard the negative feedback from fans. In the end though he’s glad he’s still a Bill. Whitner said he’s taken all that negative energy and used it as motivation in preparing himself for what [...]

Defensive scheme more complex

In speaking with a lot of the defensive players the past few days, to say that Buffalo’s new defensive scheme is more complex would be an understatement. Coming from the Tampa 2 system to the new 3-4 under defensive coordinator George Edwards it’s pretty clear that the Bills will have a lot more to throw [...]

Scott limited

Bills safety Bryan Scott was limited in OTA practice Thursday. And there were a couple of additional absences Thursday. Scott did not participate in any team drills. In addition to Marshawn Lynch and Aaron Schobel being absent, Lee Evans and Corey McIntyre were also not in attendance at Thursday’s voluntary workout.

Whitner up front about conditioning

With the first week of OTAs in the books, Donte Whitner and his teammates that were here last year have been indoctrinated by the new coaching staff as to how they’re going to prepare for football under Chan Gailey. According to Whitner it’s completely different from what they did in the past. “Even if we [...]

Full training camp schedule today

Make your travel plans road tripping Bills fans. The team’s full 2010 Verizon Wireless training camp schedule will be released later today. The dates and times of practices will be released at 2 pm today (Thursday) on the home page of Buffalobills.com.

For those that missed it

For those that may not have caught it on YouTube, Bills WR Steve Johnson, who has a hobby rapping in the studio, recently laid down a track about his teammate Jairus Byrd called ‘Byrd Flyin’ High’. Fans will be happy to know Johnson worked Buffalo into the tune.

No timetable for Mitchell return

Bills LB Kawika Mitchell is participating on a limited basis in the team’s OTA practices. He was hopeful for a May return when Buffalobills.com spoke to him back in February, but at this point he says there’s no specific timetable, and this early in the offseason there’s no reason to rush things. “It’s really just [...]

Saints RFA OT Brown a spectator

New Orleans Saints restricted free agent tackle Jammal Brown is still watching his team participate in OTAs. Brown, who has been the subject of trade talks, has yet to sign his restricted free agent tender. Brown is holding out hope for a long term deal, but it’s unlikely to happen per the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The [...]

Fitz is 1st man through

Bills head coach Chan Gailey said the quarterback rotation and reps has all been laid out from now until the end of June, so shifts in the rotation and rep count were to be expected. And there was a change on day 2 of OTAs. On Wednesday, Ryan Fitzpatrick was the first quarterback through in [...]

Carrington still earning college hardware

Bills third-round pick Alex Carrington is still racking up the college awards. After earning the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year award in 2008 as well as 1st Team All-Conference honors the past two seasons, Carrington earned another award from the Sun Belt. Carrington was named the Male Student Athlete of the Year. [...]

Gailey’s expertise noticed early

While this may be the first week that the majority of the roster is on the field for the first time, several of the players have been at One Bills Drive for most of the last two months participating in the offseason conditioning program and studying the new offensive and defensive schemes in the classroom. [...]

McKelvin’s focus

Leodis McKelvin has made it a point to be more focused on the field than perhaps he’s ever been. There is a clearly different on field demeanor coming from him. One of intensity and determination that I once saw in another player entering his third year as a pro en route to a breakout season. [...]
