After it was reported that free agent guard Chester Pitts was scheduled to work out for six teams, it turns out there were only two for whom he worked out on Tuesday.
That according to NFL.com’s Jason LaCanfora in his latest twitter post.
Jason LaCanfora Free agent OL Chester Pitts won’t make a quick decision on team after workout today for two teams. He’ll visit two other teams next week.
It’s unclear just how much Pitts is able to do in a workout coming off of microfracture surgery on his knee. He has visits scheduled with a pair of other NFL clubs next week, which means they’re likely to take place after training camp opens with those respective clubs. With that timetable, you’ve got to believe that nothing is imminent between him and the two teams that watched his workout Tuesday. Minnesota and Philadelphia were said to be interested, but recent reports expressed thoughts to the contrary by both clubs.
The Bills have not been mentioned as an interested party, but some veteran depth behind starters Andy Levitre and Eric Wood wouldn’t be a bad idea. Outside of Kirk Chambers the seven reserve guards and centers on Buffalo’s roster have a combined three games of NFL experience.
