1st round picks trickling in
Posted by Chris Brown on July 30, 2010 – 6:03 amAs the Bills work to complete a deal with C.J. Spiller, the good news is that more and more first rounders around him are starting to sign.
On Thursday Oakland’s Rolando McClain signed, the pick right before Spiller, now the first top five pick has agreed to terms with number four pick Trent Williams coming to terms with the Redskins. A few other first rounders in the latter half of the round have also signed as well as Philadelphia’s Brandon Graham the 13th overall pick.
All of these signings cater to moving the process along for all the first-rounders. Personally I think that 12th overall pick Ryan Mathews of the Chargers could be the last domino that needs to fall to help finalize a deal between Buffalo and Spiller. Mathews is also a running back, and taken just three spots after Spiller. Naturally the Spiller camp wants a superior deal to that of Mathews, so it’s possible they take their time in negotiating and see what the second back taken in the draft lands in terms of a contract. Only time will tell.
