Another lineup change?

Posted by Chris Brown on September 22, 2010 – 2:56 pm

The change at quarterback was anticipated to be the only one in Buffalo’s offensive lineup, but according to Steve Johnson there is another as well.

Johnson telling CBSSports.com that he’ll be coming off the bench instead of serving as the team’s second receiver as he’s been replaced in two receiver formation by Roscoe Parrish.

“Now I’m coming off the bench,” Johnson told CBSSports.com. “That’s part of the changes.”

Roscoe Parrish was reluctant to call himself the number two receiver, but did confirm his role will be expanding with more time outside.

“In this offense you’ve got to know all the positions because you never know when your number is called,” said Parrish. “As far as me playing outside now it’s something that I’ve always been familiar with because of the concepts we have to know and we’re just trying to find a rhythm and get everybody on the same page. It doesn’t matter what position we all line up at because we’re all playmakers.”

Parrish said he’ll still see time in the slot in three wide sets with Johnson coming on to play outside.

“I’ll still be going inside from time to time,” said Parrish.¬†“And it’ll be dependent upon the game plan and what goes in for Sunday. I’m just going to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. I’m just thankful to Chan Gailey for recognizing my talent as a receiver and I’ll continue to come out here and work hard and help this team.”

It’s unclear¬†if this is a permanent change, or just a temporary change up.
