Inside The Bills

Assessing the pass rush

Through the first three games the Bills defense has logged four sacks. They know as well as anyone it’s not good enough. “Well that’s the one thing that we’ve got to do a better job of is pressuring the passer and I think that we’ve got to do better when we rush four,” said head [...]

Practice update

There are a few of starters not practicing. Marcus Stroud is not practicing along with Andra Davis and Jonathan Stupar. Stupar is working on the side with trainers. Davis and Stroud are absent.

Stroud sounds questionable

Head coach Chan Gailey indicated that a couple of players will miss practice Wednesday, but he’s optimistic that just about all of them will be healthy enough to play on Sunday against the Jets. He has reservations about just one of his starters. “The only guy that might miss (the game) is Marcus Stroud,” said [...]

Poz to practice

Bills ILB Paul Posluszny will take to the practice field here in about a half hour. Most players like to see how they feel the following day after really pushing themselves coming off an injury, but Poz is less concerned with how his body feels getting out of bed come Thursday morning. “How I feel [...]

Ryan knows Maybin well

Jets head coach Rex Ryan knows Aaron Maybin a bit more than the average NFL head coach that doesn’t have him on their roster. That’s because Ryan’s kids went to the same high school as Maybin in Baltimore when he was the Ravens’ defensive coordinator. “When he came out of high school I thought he [...]

Jets’ Pace a possibility

The Jets have played their first three games without some of their most talented defenders. They lost DT Kris Jenkins to a torn ACL in the opener, lost Revis the next week and have been without top pass rusher Calvin Pace. But Rex Ryan has his fingers crossed that he’ll have Pace for passing downs [...]

Ryan not ruling out Revis

Jets head coach Rex Ryan is not sure about the availability of Darrelle Revis for Sunday’s game against the Bills, but at this point he’s not ruling him out either. “I’m not so sure about Darrelle,” said Ryan. “His hamstring is coming along. He’s doing a great job of getting treatment, getting about 12 hours [...]

Rex wanted re-con from Trent

The New York Jets were the one other team that put a waiver claim in on Trent Edwards Tuesday, along with the Jaguars who were awarded the former Bills QB. But Ryan’s intentions were decidedly different than that of Jacksonville and he wasn’t afraid to admit it. “I think we’re just trying to fill our [...]

Bills to see Edwards again

The Bills QB contingent now consists of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm and Levi Brown after the release of Trent Edwards. But Edwards’ former teammates will see him again in just two weeks. That’s because Edwards was claimed on waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars. That according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jacksonville plays Buffalo at Ralph Wilson [...]

Vote for C.J.

Bills RB C.J. Spiller is up for the NFL Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. Make sure you vote for Buffalo’s top pick. Spiller has some pretty stiff competition this week. Rams QB Sam Bradford, who got his 1st NFL win last Sunday, Aaron Hernandez, who had six catches for 65 yards against the Bills, KC [...]

Brown back in fold

With Levi Brown back on the roster Buffalo now has a couple of quarterbacks they can develop further. Head coach Chan Gailey made it clear on Monday following the release of Trent Edwards that they want to continue  to work with Brian Brohm, who will now be the backup behind Ryan Fitzpatrick. But Brown was a player [...]

Trap game for Jets?

The New York media is billing this Sunday’s game between the Jets and Bills as a classic trap game for Rex Ryan’s team. After a hard fought road win at Miami Sunday night, the Jets will face Minnesota the week after playing Buffalo for the much anticipated Brett Favre reunion game. Call it whatever you [...]

Fitz says he won’t change

Ryan Fitzpatrick was elevated to the starting role last week. Now a week later Trent Edwards is gone, but he doesn’t see that changing his style or degree of leadership for Buffalo’s offense. “I’m going to be the same guy regardless,” he said. ”I think because my role shifted from back-up to starter, obviously it becomes [...]

Calvin Pace back for Jets?

The Jets could very well be without Darrelle Revis this Sunday in Buffalo and they’ll still be without suspended WR Santonio Holmes, but they might be getting their top pass rusher back in the fold. ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini is reporting that OLB Calvin Pace, who suffered a foot injury in the preseason, might [...]

Rex on Revis

Jets head coach Rex Ryan sounded less than optimistic about having Darrelle Revis for Sunday’s game against the Bills in Buffalo. According to ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini, Ryan in his Monday press conference didn’t come across as convincing in saying he’s hoping Revis can play. RichCimini    Rex Ryan says he’s “hopeful” that CB [...]
