The Jaguars injury report is not lengthy, but they could be a bit shorthanded at running back.
Starting RB Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, but it appears to be just a way of giving their feature back an extra day of rest.
“He was very physical in the effort that he provided us on Sunday,” said Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio. “He’s a little banged up right now, and we rested him (Wednesday). But he’s a proud young man and he brings it for us and plays with great energy and great emotion on Sundays. He’s one of the guys that we count on.”
What makes the depth at running back a little dicey for Jacksonville is backup RB Rashad Jennings is dealing with a shoulder injury that had him limited in practice Wednesday. If Jennings can’t go it would leave Jacksonville with rookie Deji Karim behind Jones-Drew, who is still expected to play. FB Greg Jones could also get some carries in such a scenario.
Also limited in practice Wednesday for Jacksonville was starting FS Sean Considine (hamstring), starting OLB Justin Durant (ankle) and starting LG Justin Smiley (ankle).
