Bills safety George Wilson will be handing out 100 turkey dinners to families in the Buffalo region this evening.
Through his Safety Foundation, Wilson will distribute 100 “Boxes of Love” to families less fortunate in WNY. Wilson’s Safety Foundation has donated over 2,000 pounds of food for this year’s Home for the Holidays program.
Families were selected through a pre-selection process based upon need. With the assistance of local organizations such as Northwest Buffalo Community Center, the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County, the Food Bank of WNY and the Buffalo Bills, Wilson’s non-profit organization will have an opportunity to assist families who are experiencing hardships during the Thanksgiving Holiday season.
Wilson’s Home for the Holidays program was designed to assist families in need in the Buffalo region during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The program has also been designed to serve as a teaching platform for the 15 young men who are participants in the George Wilson after school program. The 15 young men along with other volunteers will distribute 100 meals and turkeys to families who are experiencing financial difficulties, medical issues and/or the loss of a loved one.
