In declaring himself eligible for the 2011 NFL draft today (Friday) Auburn DL Nick Fairley also made a point in saying he’d prefer not to play for any teams in cold weather cities.
When answering questions following his announcement, the Mobile, Alabama native said the following when asked if he has an NFL team he’d like to play for, “It doesn’t matter as long as it’s not cold.”
Of course someone has to tell Fairley he has no say in where he’s going to be playing in the NFL. If Carolina doesn’t take him first overall, he’s got a good chance of playing in a cold weather NFL city with Denver, Buffalo, Cincinnati and Cleveland holding the second, third, fourth and sixth picks respectively. WKRG-TV in Mobile has video of his announcement.
For the record the overnight low in Mobile on Thursday was 20 degrees.
