Bills RB Fred Jackson appeared on the Shredd and Ragan show Wednesday afternoon on 103.3 FM The Edge and said that he’s confident his teammates will be ready to go when it’s time to get back to football.
Jackson admitted that they’re not in ideal shape right now, but that everyone on the roster has worked to maintain themselves physically so when it is time to get back to work they’ll be ready.
The problem with offseason training is it can only go so far in replicating real football conditions. That’s why players always distinguish between being in good physical shape and being in football shape. It’s almost like the body has to be calloused up for football and the only way to do that is to put the pads on in training camp.
Fred also talked about how he had the 30 guys that were in town during the player organized workouts a month ago over to his house for diner and outed Bryan Scott as the guy that ate the most. He also said the defensive players have plans to meet up in Atlanta at some point to do some more work as a group.
