Justin Rogers, who signed Thursday night, might be a seventh-round pick, but Bills secondary coach George Catavolos sees something in the talented cornerback.
Catavolos told buffalobills.com that Rogers could be a factor as a rookie, which is saying something knowing the steep learning curve that the rookies will have with no spring workouts this offseason. But the veteran secondary coach sees a savvy to Rogers’ game.
“Just based on the competition he’s played, his temperament, he’s a highly intelligent guy,” said Catavolos. “I know from talking to him and seeing him in some of the bowl games he was very competitive so I’m looking for him to be in the mix also.”
“It’s real good to hear that,” said Rogers. “Coach Catavolos has a great amount of confidence in me and I spoke to him and he told me about the expectations and the things he’d like me to do and I’m just ready to work and come in and try to earn a spot.”
