Bills RB C.J. Spiller was asked for his reaction to Fred Jackson’s comments about being frustrated by not knowing his true role on the team. Spiller said Jackson has a right to voice his opinion, and also added that he’s not going to let anyone drive a wedge between Jackson and him.
“From the outside, people outside are going to try to make me and him come up against each other, but that’s not going to happen,” said Spiller. “We have a great friendship and I value that more than anything. So people outside are going to say what they want to say. I can’t control that. I just control what goes on (on the field).
“The main thing for me is just come in here every day ready to work and try to help my team win and I’m pretty sure he’s trying to do the same thing. There are going to be a lot of people out there trying to get me and him to go against each other or get me and him to say something bad about each other. I’m not going to say nothing negative about him because there’s nothing negative to say. He’s a great player. He comes in ready to work and he’s proven that year in and year out since he’s been here. We’re both playmakers trying to get on the field and help our team win.”
