Bills WR Donald Jones was given a 4-6 week timetable for his high ankle sprain suffered against the Eagles in Week 5. Jones says he’s ahead of the back end of that timetable, but cannot say yet when he’ll be back.
“No set target yet,” said Jones. “It’s moving a lot faster than I expected, but they don’t want to rush it and get me back too fast.”
When asked if he at least knows if his return will come before the six week mark from the time he sustained the injury Jones said he likely would.
“Definitely hopeful it won’t be six weeks,” he said. “We don’t think it will be six weeks at all. So we’ll see how I feel in the next two weeks.”
Jones has been doing a lot of work in the pool to keep his full body weight off his injured ankle, and did squats in the weight room Wednesday. He plans to do some straight line running next week.
