With C.J. Spiller’s role at wideout continuing this week and possibly beyond, the bye week afforded the coaching staff to possibly come up with some additional plays for the speedy back turned receiver.
“Because we had a bye we’ll have a little more time and he’ll have more time to think about things and how to get him involved,” said Ryan Fitzpatrick of Spiller. “I think just in general with the injuries and still not having guys back, his role is going to increase. I think that was inevitable with him being out there and having a little bit to build on with the catches and the routes that he ran. I think that was going to happen anyway.”
Spiller had a career-high five catches in Buffalo’s Week 6 game against the Giants.
