There was some thought that with Buffalo’s spread attack, which is built on anticipation throws and timing that the Jets may take a similar approach in defending the Bills to their typical approach to the Patriots with their quick strike passing game. But all indications are the Jets defenders are going to have a different approach, one that keys primarily on one player and that player is Fred Jackson.
Jets’ defenders were telling ESPN New York that shutting down Fred Jackson will be their focus and they’ll worry about all the other passing game weapons after. Bart Scott wasn’t shy in telling ESPN New York this week that Fitz is no Tom Brady and that will allow the Jets to take a different approach to Buffalo’s offense.
“One thing that’s different between them, they don’t have Tom Brady,” Scott told ESPN New York. “Ryan Fitzpatrick is a good quarterback and he’s playing well, but you know Tom is a totally different monster and we can play them a little different.”
