Bills head coach Chan Gailey admitted earlier in the year that beating the Chiefs in the opener would carry a little extra having been fired by that organization in 2009. He was asked if he’d carry a little extra with him this week heading into the Week 10 matchup with Dallas, knowing he was fired by Jerry Jones after just two years as head coach.
“Obviously, I’ve worked a lot of places unfortunately, but it’s one of those deals where you remember your time there and there were some good times and some bad times,” said Gailey. “But that’s not the focus. The focus is trying to win a game. We need to go win the game, we’ve got everything in front of us, we hold our own destiny in our own hands, so we’ve got to go take care of business.”
Jones admitted years later that it’s one of the biggest mistakes he’s made as owner of the Dallas Cowboys. It wouldn’t surprise me if Gailey felt the need to remind him by posting a win over Jones’ club Sunday.
