C.J. Spiller was as big a part of Sunday’s game plan as he has been in weeks. His role got even bigger in the second half when Fred Jackson went out with a leg injury. What frosted Spiller was being unable to convert on 1st-and-goal from the two and 2nd-and-goal from the one.
“That’s on me, I should have punched that in,” said Spiller. “I’ll dwell on that watching it on film. The guys did a great job of hacking it up and I just didn’t punch it in. That series right there, that’s all on me, it should have been six points.”
On 3rd-and-goal from the one Andy Levitre and Ryan Fitzpatrick had trouble on the exchange forcing Fitz to recover the ball. Then on 4th-and-goal at the one the pass to Stevie Johnson was high and incomplete.
