— The Buffalo Bills announced that OT Erik Pears has signed a contract extension with the team. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Pears, a seven-year NFL veteran, has started all 13 games in 2011 as part of an offensive line that has allowed an NFL-best 17 sacks and blocked for an AFC-best 4.8 yards per rushing attempt (324-1,542) through Week 14.
A 6-8, 314-pound Colorado State product, Pears entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Denver in 2005. He has started 44 of 59 games played with stints with the Broncos (2005-08) and Oakland (2009) prior to joining the Bills as a free agent on December 14, 2010.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Head Coach Chan Gailey
On NT Marcell Dareus making another big step yesterday and other bright spots:
Marcell was one of the bright spots. He did some good things yesterday. He really did. I thought that was a plus coming out of the ball game. I thought Dwan Edwards did some good things on the field yesterday. He played pretty well. It was good to get George (Wilson) back. You could tell he was a little rusty but it was good to get him back on the field. There were some positives. Justin Rogers returning kick offs was a positive. I thought that looked good for what he may bring in the future.
