Stevie insists he’s fine
Posted by on December 18, 2011 – 11:47 pmStevie Johnson was pulled from Sunday’s game late in the fourth quarter with a groin injury and was not allowed back in the game. Head coach Chan Gailey explained why.
“I kept Stevie out with the groin,” said Gailey. ”He was dragging that leg. I didn’t want him to go out there and pull it completely and us not have him in the future.”
Johnson wanted to go back in the game, but respected the decision.
“It’s my groin,” said Johnson. “It’s been bothering me all season. It’s acting up, but it’s been like this for the entire season. I think it happened on either a slant or something. I don’t know if I was trying to get out of a tackle and kind of pulled it a little bit, but I’ve been dealing with it all year. It’s just no different, it popped up again this game. I’m cool. I’ll be ready to go next week.”
