Bills WR Stevie Johnson wants to practice today, but head coach Chan Gailey is keeping him sidelined to rest his nagging groin injury.
“It’s better,” said Gailey of Johnson’s groin ailment. “We’re going to hold him out today (Tuesday). He says he can go, but we’re going to hold him out today. That’s why I held him out at the end last week so we could have him for these last two. I didn’t want him to go out there and really hurt that thing. So we won’t have him today, but I think he’ll be back at practice tomorrow and Thursday.”
Johnson has had a nagging groin problem crop up from time to time since the preseason, but has played through it. The groin was re-aggravated this past week against Miami and he was pulled from the game in the late stages of the fourth quarter. Johnson maintains that he could’ve re-entered the game, but respected Gailey’s decision to hold him out.
