Demetrius Bell sustained a knee injury in Week 16 against Denver and missed the season finale this past Sunday. Fortunately for him the injury wasn’t as bad as initally feared and the offensive tackle has already undergone surgery to correct the injury.
“I tore my meniscus,” Bell said. “It wasn’t anything major. I had surgery and I’m back walking around and rehabbing. In three or four weeks I’ll be 100 percent so that’s a good thing. It’s just a setback for me. I just got kicked in the leg from the side when I was locked out.”
Bell is naturally glad he’ll be healthy heading into a free agent offseason, but also knows how fortunate he was to avoid a more serious injury.
“It could have been worse because when I went back and watched it I could’ve tore my whole knee up,” he said. “Luckily it was just a torn meniscus and I’ve already had it taken care of.”
