Dareus: Brady cries to refs
Posted by on February 2, 2012 – 2:17 pmBills DL Marcell Dareus has only played against Tom Brady and the Patriots twice in his young NFL career, but he already has a handle on how in his opinion Brady influences officials.
Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Adam Schein and Rich Gannon, Dareus was asked how you stop Tom Brady with the Patriots poised to play the Giants in the Super Bowl. Dareus gave his opinion while also stating that as a defensive lineman you’ve got to stay cool knowing Brady is going to get some calls.
“You really have to find a way to isolate an offensive lineman and any way you can get a one-on-one that defensive lineman has to win and you have to get after Tom Brady some type of way,” Dareus said. ”Getting a hand in his face, knocking his arm down. Don’t go too crazy because Brady has the referees on his side. He cries to referees as soon as he gets a chance and it always goes his way. So don’t go too crazy, just play the game safe and just get in his face. Get him to throw bad passes, throw when he doesn’t want to.”
Dareus was in radio row at the Super Bowl in Indy Thursday pumping up his new affiliation with New Era for their new line of hats for the NFL draft, which will be released on April 2nd.
