Bills head coach Chan Gailey provided a progress report on the health of arguably three of the best players on the team that all wound up on injured reserve in 2011, Fred Jackson, Eric Wood, Kyle Williams.
“Fred Jackson has been completely cleared at this point,” said Gailey. “He was given a clean bill of health a week or two ago. Eric (Wood) is still in rehab. Kyle (Williams) has not been given 100 percent clearance to go yet, but he’s getting closer and closer. He’s been around the facility and it all looked good. He’s very happy about it. I know that. He feels a lot better about it.”
Jackson is the only lock to be on the field for OTAs in May as he told Buffalobills.com two weeks ago that he was back at it.
“The itch is there,” he said. “I’m ready to get back, but at the same time I know I have to pace myself because I don’t want to go out there and burn myself out before I get into training camp. It’s something I’ll take my time with but I’m definitely ready to go.”
