Bills fans know their team too well. That’s why not long after the signing of Mario Williams they realized there already was a #90 on the Buffalo roster in veteran DE Chris Kelsay. The question is who winds up with the jersey number for the 2012 season?
Bills CEO Russ Brandon was posed this question when he appeared on WGR Sportsradio 550 this week. He basically said it’s for the players to handle in their own way.
“You know how that goes,” said Brandon. “The vets take care of that. I’m sure Chris and Mario are having some discussions about how that’s going to work out.”
When asked if the organization put a timetable on the two defensive linemen to reach a resolution knowing there’s a lot of interest in Mario Williams jerseys by the Bills fan base, Brandon indicated there wasn’t a deadline.
“We’ll let those guys work at it and look at those things on the shelves later,” he said.
