OT Bell signs with Eagles
Posted by on April 4, 2012 – 10:55 amBills free agent offensive tackle Demetrius Bell is a free agent no more. According to the Eagles team website, Bell has signed with Philadelphia.
Per the Eagles site it’s a five-year deal. Buffalo made Bell an offer, but it was clear he wanted to see if he could find a better deal. With Philadelphia losing starting LT Jason Peters to a ruptured Achilles tendon last week, the Eagles likely made a very good offer to the 27-year old tackle.
Bell is an athletic offensive lineman, but was plagued by injuries the past few seasons. He appeared in just seven games in 2011 after a fractured collar bone forced him to miss eight of the nine games for which he was inactive.
In 2009 he missed eight games due to a knee injury, which led to offseason microfracture surgery.
