Mario Williams has officially picked his jersey number, but when it came to a number in the 90’s he really didn’t have much of a choice.
Most of the jersey numbers in the 90’s were already occupied by veteran players, and after talking to Williams Tuesday he wasn’t going to entertain wearing a number in the 70’s or 60’s or 50’s, which is also permissible. After Mark Anderson chose number 93 a couple of weeks ago, 94 was the only available number left in the 90’s.
That’s why even though he didn’t make it official until today (Tuesday) he had a pretty good idea, which way he was leaning once he knew 90 wasn’t available.
“I was pretty sure it was going to be number 94 since I got here,” Williams told Buffalobills.com. “I just had to make it official.”
