ESPN columnist K.C. Joyner put a piece together of quarterbacks from teams that lacked success last year that he feels will have breakout seasons in 2012. Buffalo’s starting signal caller was on Joyner’s radar.
Ryan Fitzpatrick got an honorable mention on the list of five quarterbacks. Here’s what Joyner wrote.
Buffalo Bills, Ryan Fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick was instrumental in helping Steve Johnson become the first Bills wide receiver to break the 1,000-yard mark in consecutive seasons in team history despite Johnson’s having to battle a nagging injury last year, something he recently had surgery for. And while Fitzpatrick struggled in the second half of the season, a large part of that can be attributed to the two cracked ribs he was playing with. Add second-round draft pick Cordy Glenn and third-round draft pick T.J. Graham to the mix and the Bills’ passing game could finally reach critical mass.
Also appearing on Joyner’s list were Minnesota’s Christian Ponder, Oakland’s Carson Palmer, Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden and KC’s Matt Cassel.
