The work that Ryan Fitzpatrick has put in regarding his footwork for throwing with quarterbacks coach David Lee is already paying dividends in OTAs.
Appearing on the Howard Simon show on Bills flagship WGR Sportsradio 550 Thursday morning, Fitz said based on the charting of his throws in OTAs his accuracy and completion percentage are pointing up.
“There’s been a big difference for me in my confidence level and actually charting the throws and seeing the percentage of throws that are on the money and percentage of throws that are being completed,” said Fitzpatrick. “There’s been a nice increase over the course of the offseason.
“When you throw the ball it’s not always perfect, there’s not always a perfect pocket, you’re relying on guys to be in certain spots. So that’s why this practice for us is so huge to be able to get everybody on the same page and practice under those conditions where you have guys running around you.”
Though Fitz did not divulge where his completion percentage is thus far in OTAs Fitzpatrick’s completion percentage in 2011 peaked at 67.7% following the Week 8 game against Washington.
