Bills head coach Chan Gailey has said it as has Bills GM Buddy Nix. They believe they can go to the playoffs with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their quarterback. RB C.J. Spiller took it a step further.
In an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio this week, Spiller was asked point blank if the Bills are capable of winning a Super Bowl with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their quarterback. Spiller didn’t even hesitate.
“Without a doubt. He’s a great quarterback, very smart,” said Spiller. “We just have to give him time to throw the football and he can pick defenses apart. Of course he’s not a big name like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but I’ll play for that guy every Sunday because I know he’s going to lay it on the line. I know when me or Fred are making a cutback run and Fitz is out there trying to make a cut block on a D-lineman or a cornerback, when your starting quarterback is going out and doing stuff like that you have to go to battle for him.”
Be sure to check the Media Center at Buffalobills.com later this morning (Friday) where we’ll have our exclusive one-on-one interview with Fitzpatrick.
