The first preseason game is usually one for which a game plan is not prepared. However, the Bills, and any other NFL team for that matter, do not go in blind.
In Tuesday’s practice the players on offense and defense were given about 20 looks at popular Washington formations and plays.
“We got 15 or 20 plays against Washington looks, but the rest of practice was against each other,” said head coach Chan Gailey.
The team only has a walk through this morning at St. John Fisher before heading back to Buffalo in the afternoon for Thursday’s game. But today’s walk through will again feature Washington plays.
“We will come out and do another walk-through and walk through some more of the Washington stuff and kind of prepare that way,” said Fred Jackson. “It is just a transition and the coaches are doing a good job of getting us ready.”
