Though the offense had a tough time expanding on their early touchdown drive in their lopsided preseason loss to Pittsburgh, Ryan Fitzpatrick remained staunch in his belief that the offense will execute and be productive and consistent come the regular season.
“I think at this point we’re not desperate, we’re not worried that we didn’t score 50 points every preseason game,” said Fitzpatrick. “It’s not like we’re trying to nitpick to find some positives in these games. There are a lot of positives and good things going on and the guys in our locker room know when it all matters and when it all counts and we’re looking forward to that.”
When questioned about some of his errant throws on his 7-18 passing night, Fitzpatrick again reiterated that his confidence in unwavering.
“I feel really good. I really do,” he said. “Like it hit on earlier I’ve got a lot of confidence in myself and in the group and I know they have a lot of confidence too. Hopefully when we get to play the Jets and we start the real stuff we’ll start keeping score.”
