98-yd drive didn’t wipe away positives

The Bills defense was rolling up stops and stuffing the run while also getting solid pass pressure on Ben Roethlisberger Saturday night against the Steelers. The only real blemish for the starting defense was the 98-yard drive they gave up in the last two minutes of the first half. While Buffalo’s defenders weren’t happy with it, they’re not going to let it shake their confidence.

“No, I am not concerned at all,” said George Wilson. “I am definitely encouraged. Those first two preseason games we really did not do a bunch of game planning on those guys, but this week we did. I think it really showed early in the game how we were making them one-dimensional. We were stuffing the run and even not giving up any big plays in the passing game as well.

“The way we played the first 28 and a half minutes, that is how we have to play the entire game. We cannot just let our guard down, especially going into halftime. That is a key situation that we have to win. We are going to be in that position again at some point during the course of this season and we cannot give up points going into halftime.”
