Terrence McGee saw his first preseason action Saturday night, and he was not happy with the start it got off to as he gave up a 39-yard touchdown to Antonio Brown following a turnover by Buffalo’s offense.
McGee had trouble turning and driving off his surgically repaired knee, so he was a step behind Brown on his post pattern. Da’Norris Searcy was not in position to provide help on the play.
“The only thing I’m upset with is the first play,” said McGee of his night referring to the touchdown play. “Anything else after that, I feel fine with.”
McGee looked good in the run front as he had four tackles including a pair for loss, but clearly doesn’t have the strength in his knee yet to call himself 100 percent fit for regular season duty. When asked if he’ll be ready for the opener, the veteran cornerback was unsure.
“I can’t say with this thing,” he said. “I figured I would be back (full go) at OTA’s. I’m trying to see and position myself every two weeks.”
Two weeks from today is the season opener against the Jets.
