Stevie Johnson weighed in with his opinion on the acquisition of Tarvaris Jackson after practice Monday. The Bills top wideout believes the receivers can establish an on field rapport with Jackson relatively soon.
“We will be able to build a relationship in about a week,” said Johnson. “We will have each other down as far as chemistry goes and everything will be smooth. As of now, it is just him getting into the playbook and learning as quickly as possible.”
When asked if two weeks is enough time to play against the Jets effectively should he need to come into the game for an injury, Johnson wasn’t as sure knowing the kind of cram session that time period is going to be for the new quarterback.
“I believe he will have the basics down, but I cannot say he will have everything,” said Johnson. “I guess that just depends on how much he will pick up on the offense. He has been in the league for a while. I think he will be able to pick up the majority of the offense and be able to play well.”
