More than 600 athletes will gather in Buffalo this weekend to participate in the second annual Eclipse Multisport Nickel City Triathalon. Athletes will compete Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th at Gallagher Beach on Lake Erie and throughout South Buffalo.
The race is part of the USA Triathlon’s Elite Race Series and three Olympians will be competing.
The Buffalo Bills are once again proud to sponsor the Play60 Kids Triathlon taking place Sunday morning as part of the Triathlon festivities. This is another example of a large scale national event taking place in Buffalo that makes it a great place to live and visit.
Triathlon is a great way for kids to get their 60 minutes of exercise a day and is aligned with the Buffalo Bills focus on health and wellness and the fight to eliminate childhood obesity.
In support of the event, people will be traveling from all over the country including Bills Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning Mary Owen’s fifteen friends who will make their way from the Detroit area to compete in the Olympic distance race tomorrow morning. They will then stay to take part in the gameday festivities at The Ralph on Sunday.
