Fred Jackson has been out on the practice field doing his own drills on the side the past two days. He’s encouraged by his progress and so is his head coach, who admitted the running back is ahead of schedule.
“Yeah he is,” said Chan Gailey. “He must be a fast healer.”
Less than two weeks into his rehab for his sprained LCL, Gailey isn’t ready to put a timetable on a possible return for Jackson. The team gave an initial prognosis of three to eight weeks, but Jackson said last week he intended to be back in four weeks, which would be Buffalo’s Week 5 road game at San Francisco.
