C.J. Spiller was a surprise participant at practice Thursday after only doing conditioning work with athletic trainers on the side Wednesday. He joined fellow RB Fred Jackson, who is looking good for Sunday’s game. Spiller, however, is just four days removed from a sprained shoulder injury that forced him from the Cleveland game last Sunday in the first quarter.
“It felt good to get back on the practice field,” said Spiller. “I haven’t been on the playing field since Kansas City. I played a little bit in the first quarter against Cleveland, but it just felt good to get back out there and put the shoulder pads back on. I did what I could. They did a good job of letting me make sure I’m staying in the right direction.”
“He did okay,” said Gailey. “He took a few reps. He didn’t take a lot, but he took a few and he got back into the swing of things. We didn’t go out there and do tackling drills with him, but it looked like he was moving well. It looked like all of his range of motion was there. We’ll see where it takes us.”
