Gronk, Mankins, Vollmer questionable for Pats

Posted by Chris Brown on September 28, 2012 – 5:37 pm

It might be a matter of gamesmanship by Pats head coach Bill Belichick, but TE Rob Gronkowski was a late Friday add to New England’s injury report.

Gronkowski is listed as a limited participant in Friday’s practice as an apparent hip injury has him questionable for Sunday’s game. The Patriots will already be without TE Aaron Hernandez, who is out with a high ankle sprain and will miss his second straight game. WR Julian Edelman is also out with a hand injury.

Nine other Patriots are questionable as well including Pro Bowl G Logan Mankins with a hip injury that kept him from practicing all week. Considering Mankins played an entire season last year with a torn ACL it would take a major issue to keep Mankins out of Sunday’s game. Starting RT Sebastian Vollmer is also questionable with a back injury.

Here are the other questionable Patriots for Sunday’s game with Buffalo.

DE Brandon Deaderick – ankle
DT Justin Francis – ankle
DT Kyle Love – knee
CB Alfonzo Dennard – hamstring
C Nick McDonald – shoulder
CB Sterling Moore – knee
RB Shane Vereen – foot
