New England OL Logan Mankins was listed as questionable with a hip injury for Sunday’s game, but Comcast Sportsnet out of Boston is reporting that he did not make the trip with the team to Buffalo.
Mankins played against Baltimore last week, but did not practice at all this week. With Mankins out of the lineup, it’s a huge hole in the middle of New England’s offensive line, a line that is still trying to jell with younger players at offensive tackle in Nate Solder and Sebastian Vollmer, who is questionable himself with a back injury.
Fifth-year vet Donald Thomas is expected to start in Mankins place Sunday. The Patriots also signed free agent OL Matt Tennant, who was last with the Saints this past summer. He’s been strictly a C/G linemen during his pro career. New England had an extra roster spot after they released Kellen Winslow late in the week.
