It was a bit surprising to see C.J. Spiller play for the Bills on Sunday just a week removed from a shoulder injury, but he said he came out of the game no worse for the wear.
“I’ll be fine,” he said after the loss to the Patriots. “Just a little soreness, but I’ll be fine.”
Spiller rotated in and out with Fred Jackson, who also was not 100 percent Sunday coming off a knee injury. Spiller finished with 33 yards on eight carries (4.1 avg.) and a pair of catches for five yards.
When asked if he felt he made the right call by playing Spiller answered in the affirmative.
“Without a doubt,” he said. “I never second guess. I tip my hat to my trainers. They did a great job of trying to get me ready as much as possible to play in this game. They knew I wanted to play. There was never a doubt that I did want to play in this game. They did everything possible they could and I was glad I was able to get out there.”
